One of the most essential needs of fire departments is effective fund-raising and in many cases this includes grant writing. Grants have long been a primary source of funds for volunteer departments. Unfortunately many of these funds have been diminishing in recent years; certainly the FEMA, AFG, SAFER, USDA, Forestry, and other federal grants have.
Grant writing is a tedious, time consuming, frustrating, often complicated but necessary process. Most volunteer fire departments do not have members who have the time, background, or desire to work through the guidelines, read the laws, or jump through the hoops.
At Valley Grants & Business Services, Inc.(VGBS), we will not only write the grants for you, we will do the necessary research to locate the grants. Over the past five years we have learned how to find the grants that are available to you and what kind of language the grantors look for in the narratives. We will work with you, your officers and members to determine your needs. We will assist you in finding the best course and source to follow for grant funding. You, as a department make, the final decision on which grants (fe deral, state, private) you wish to pursue. You remain in control of the grant and its disbursement. We, at VGBS, are just the helping hands.
